LAHORE - Thousands of Muslims will sit in Aitkaf at mosques in their respective localities all over the country including the provincial metropolis today, after Asr prayers, to spend last ten days of Ramazan praying in seclusion.
However, the largest Aitkaf after Harimain Sharifain which is organised by Minhajul Quran every year would not be held this year as their management has decided to contribute in relief to the IDPs of North Waziristan.
The faithful sit in Aitkaf on Ramazan 20 before Iftar to seek blessing and forgiveness of the Creator and search for Lailatul Qadr in odd nights of the holy month.
 They will come out of seclusion after sighting of the Shawal moon.
Thousands of Muslims will sit in Jamia Masjid Al-Qadsia, Badshahi Masjid, Masjid Wazir Khan and other mosques in the City. Women will also sit in Aitkaf at mosques where separate arrangements have been made.
