Seven killed in Dir blast

DIR UPPER - At least six members of local peace committee and their driver killed in a roadside blast in Doogdara area in Sheringle subdivision of Dir Upper yesterday.

The police said the members of local peace committee were on their way to Sharingle from Talawkas area of Doogdara when a remote improvised explosive device planted on the roadside went off near Badarkani locality.

As a result, the six members of peace committee including its head Khan Mohammad, Sher Zaman, Habibullah Jan, Adil Khan, Mohammad Jan and Malik Samiullah as well as driver of their vehicle Kabeer Khan died in the blast.

Their bodies were rushed to the Sheringle hospital.

 The responsibility of the blast has yet not accepted by any armed group, police said.

Terror plot foiled:

INP adds: Security Forces conducted a raid in Tormang near the area of Lower Dir and arrested six terrorists on Sunday night foiling a major terror bid.

In an operation conducted during midnight, a huge cache of weapons, fake uniforms and explosive material was taken into custody. The area was previously inhabited by the militants of Fazlullah Group and while he is in Afghanistan, he continues to send his terrorists to Swat for terrorist activities.
