QUETTA- Jan Achakzai announced to join PML-N in a press conference held in Chief Minister (CM) Secretariat, on Thursday.
He was accompanied by CM of Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri and other members of PML-N Balochistan Chapter in the Press Conference.
Mr. Achakzai is a senior political analyst who regularly appears on talk shows in news channels. He also served as central spokesman for the right wing religious party, JUI-F, for a brief stint.
Mr. Achakzai was congratulated by entire provincial leadership of PML-N for joining the party.
Speaking at the occasion he said that main problems faced by Balochistan are poor quality of education and rampant corruption which need to be tackled on war footings.
“I have decided to join PML-N because of its development-centric policies which will prove to be instrumental in economic revival of Pakistan in general and Balochistan in particular,” Mr. Achakzai told The Nation.
He believes that using platform of PML-N, he can take part in the national narrative of progressive politics that PMLN is pursuing.
Jan Achakzai, who is also working on his think tank, said that Pakistani politics requires people with technical skills and expertise so that they can run the affairs of the government in a better way.
