AAC Peshawar dies of corona at HMC

peshawar   -  The deadly third wave of coronavirus claimed the life of Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Peshawar Shams-ul-Islam, said an official of Hayatabad Medical Complex on Tuesday. 

According to hospital sources, AAC Shams-ul-Islam was under treatment for corona infection at Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) for the last 45 days. He was on ventilator for a week and lost his battle for life on Tuesday. His funeral prayer was offered at his ancestral graveyard in Dargai, Malakand district. 

Official sources said that AAC Shams-ul-Islam was a PMS Officer and also served at Pak-Afghan Torkham Border. He had received the Best Officer award from the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for his services at Torkham during the first wave of coronavirus. 

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan has expressed heartfelt grief over the demise of Shams-ul-Islam, who died of COVID-19. 

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for courage to them to bear the loss with fortitude. He also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
