LAHORE - Pakistani pair of Hussnain Ali Rizwan and Hamza Ali Rizwan won the main draw round doubles match against the Tajik pair in the Tajikistan Tennis Fedration Cup being conducted under the aegis of Asian Tennis Federation (ATF).
Hussnain Ali Rizwan and Hamza Ali Rizwan (both of LGS Paragon) played well against the Tajik pair of Muhammadysuf Mukimjonzoda and Sobir Saidov and outclassed them with a score of 6-0, 6-1. The Pakistani pair were off to flying start and put a tremendous pressure on their opponents, which helped them win the first set 6-0. They continued their good show in the second set as well, where they conceded only one point to win it 6-1, thus advanced to the next round. Talking to The Nation virtually, both Hamza and Hussnain said: “Our goal is to represent Pakistan at international level and win international laurels for the country. But to achieve such feats, we need support from the government and sponsorships from corporate sector as it will help us take part in maximum international events on regular basis, win crucial points to improve international rankings and also win glories for our country.”
Earlier, both Hussnain and Hamza Ali won their respective main draw first round matches. Hussnain Ali Rizwan (LGS Paragon) thrashed Tajikistan’s Bakhtiyor Aliboev 6-0, 6-0 while Hamza Ali Rizwan (LGS Paragon) crushed Tajikistan’s Hamidjon Kurbanov 6-0, 6-0.
