It was Boom Boom Afridi who once again helped the team in crucial time by taking very important wickets in the right time and guided the team to 21-run victory over strong Sri Lanka which gave tough time to Pakistan before going down fighting by 21 runs in the third one-day international. Pakistan team, now, lead five-match ODI series 2-1. Shahid Afridi took two significant wickets for 42 runs and contributed 15 runs with bat. Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal also bowled well and helped the team to score a good victory. Gul removed Tharanga on the earlier stage of the match and also removed tail-enders in the last overs also clinching three wickets for 48 while Ajmal also gathered similar number of wickets for 42 runs. Lankans were on track till Dilshan and Sangakkara's presence at the crease but after latter's departure Pakistan somehow came back in the match. Pakistan hit the stumps twice in the third quarter of the game and were unable to make further inroads with the new balls in juicy conditions for the seamers. Sarfaraz was very active behind the stumps and he also batted well. It looked that Pakistan have played this game without homework and game plan. Mohsin Khan and team management should make strategy and game plan for next games.
