FM Qureshi holds talks with UAE ministers

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates yesterday vowed to enhance cooperation. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence & Commissioner General of EXPO 2020 Dubai Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting with Al-Sayegh, important regional and global issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and promotion of bilateral cooperation in various fields, were discussed, the foreign ministry said here. Qureshi said that Pakistan attached great importance to the bilateral relations with Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. “The common religious and cultural values between the two countries make these bilateral ceremonies stronger and more stable,” FM Qureshi said. A large number of Pakistanis live in the UAE and serve in various walks of life, he added.Pakistan, he said, was focusing on its geo-economic priorities. “Pakistan and UAE have vast opportunities to boost bilateral trade and investments,” he said.“Our Embassy is using “Economic Diplomacy” to introduce foreign investors to the wider, more accessible business opportunities in Pakistan,” Qureshi said. The Foreign Minister briefed the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs on the overall human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the overall law and order situation in the region, including the Afghan peace process.
