Special transport police dedicated to Peshawar Morr—Islamabad Airport Metro Bus Service

Islamabad-The Capital Police have decided to establish a dedicated transport police team for the security of Peshawar Morr—Islamabad Airport Metro Bus Service, informed sources on Tuesday.
In this regard, the SSP Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran has issued directions to OSI HQ to prepare a deployment plan to protect the passengers in Metro Buses in the Capital, they said.
The police will perform duty at all the stations of Orange Metro Buses including both inside and outside the vehicles. Falcon Squads will patrol along the Organe Metro Bus Stops to ensure foolproof security of passengers. Surrounded by densely populated areas, Chungi Number 26 Metro Bus Stop will be the special focus of Islamabad police, said sources.
SSP Operations, when contacted, confirmed the news. He said 15 buses and three vehicles would run on a route round the clock and the police cops will also travel in the buses to ensure the security of passengers.
“Chief Commissioner Islamabad has floated the idea of the deployment of police force inside buses and around stations for a week, in the beginning, to cope with anti-social elements,” he said adding since the government is providing the public with free travel facilities in Metro Buses during Ramzan, a huge rush of passengers is witnessed in the vehicles.
He said in developed countries like the UK, subways and metro bus systems have dedicated transport police to maintain law and order. “We are also working on the establishment of such a security force,” said the SSP.
