ECP seeks report on Daska firing during by-election

ISLAMABAD- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed the Inspector General of Punjab Police to take action against those involved in the firing incident during NA-75 by elections on Friday.
The ECP has also directed the police department to submit a report of the incident with the commission before February 22 so that the ECP could take further action against those involved in the incident.
In this regard the Chief Election Commissioner has also summoned a high level meeting on Feb 23 in ECP to discuss the issue and take legal action as per the law.
It must be noted that at least two people were killed and three others injured in a firing incident at a polling station on Friday in NA-75 Daska constituency in Sialkot.
One of the victims was reportedly a member of the ruling PTI while the other belonged to the PML-N. A PTI polling agent was also among the injured, according to eyewitnesses and local media.
