KARACHI - Four people were killed in various incidents here on Saturday.
An activist of defunct Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan was shot dead in the remits of Korangi police station.
Police said that victim Ghulam Hussain, resident of the same area, was on his way to a nearby mosque when some unidentified gunmen targeted him outside the mosque. Police said that the deceased was affiliated with an outlawed sectarian outfit while his body was handed over to family after autopsy at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
On the other side, two people died and four others wounded in fatal road mishap within the remits of Maripur police station.
Police said that a pickup van and a truck were collided at Swat Colony area of Maripur in which six people were wounded who taken to the Civil Hospital. Doctors pronounced the deaths of two, including Farhan Aslam and an unknown while admitted rest of four with critical wounds.
Meanwhile, an ex-employee of KESC shot himself to death over forcible retirement within the remits of Steel Town police station. Police said that Saleem Mushtaq was an employee of the Karachi Electric Supply Company and got early retirement on departmental orders last week. He suffered trauma and shot himself to death.
EXTORTIONISTS THROW HAND GRENADE ON FACTORY: Some extortionists threw a hand-cracker at a factory located in Baldia Town within the remits of Mochko police station.
Police said that some extortionists had demanded Rs0.5 million from the factory owner Rizwan. He declined to pay the protection money despite frequent calls and threats. The extortionists have finally reached outside the factory on a motorbike and threw cracker inside the factory. The cracker blew with a loud bang which damaged the outer wall of the factory but did not harm anybody. Experts of bomb disposal squad reached the spot along with the law enforcers where experts determined that the terrorists used heavy explosives with pellets.   
Meanwhile, as many as 14 policemen from District Larkana have completed an IT course, a police statement issued here on Saturday.  The course was conducted at the Central Command and Control Centre located at the CPO here. The Additional Inspector General CID, Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh, distributed certificates among the successful participants of the course. It was pointed out that the IT courses have been introduced for all the districts in the province on the directive of Sindh Inspector General of Police Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari.
The selected policemen are imparted IT training for ensuring the registration of computerised FIRs at all the police stations under computer networking. The purpose of training the course is to enhance the standard of police and providing certain latest facilities to the people as well.
