Four-man squad to monitor crimes



LAHORE – Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Khan Baig has constituted a four-member committee to monitor the crimes incidents, taking place across the province. The committee will monitor the crime happenings and would also brief the IGP daily. According to a police spokesperson, the decision to this effect was taken during a high-level meeting held at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Saturday.
DIG (Operations) Punjab Sohail Ahmed Khan, DIG Headquarters Muhammad Amlesh, AIG (Operations) Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan and PSO to IGP Muhammad Ali Nakokar were also present in the meeting.
The members of the crimes monitoring committee include DIG (Operations) Punjab Sohail Ahmed Khan, AIG (Operations) Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan, SSP Investigation Branch (Analysis and Monitoring) Dr Muhammad Abid, and DPR Punjab Police Nabeela Ghazanfar.
The IGP further said that the member of the operation department would check the crime incidents all over the province, SSP investigations would monitor investigations of cases, and the DPR would brief the IGP about the crime reports published in the media.
In light of the briefing given by the team members, the IGP will directly order the concerned RPOs, DPOs, Divisional SPs, or even the SHOs about any incident of reported crime, police action, and about the registration and nature of the crime incident as well.
Passing out: The passing out parade of the 47th Recruit Class Course was held at the Police College Chuhng on Saturday. At least 587 recruits attended passing out parade.
On this occasion, the Commandant Police College Dr Suleman Sultan Rana was the chief guest while deputy commandant Muhammad Amin Shah was also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Commandant Police College Chuhng Dr Suleman Sultan Rana urged the recruits to serve the people with commitment, ensure justice, and play their role to improve the working and image of the department.
