LHWs flay Khuhro’s remarks

KARACHI - The remarks of Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro about lady health workers responsible in failure of eradicating polio cases in the province arouse anger of the All Pakistan Lady Health Workers Association.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, the President of All Pakistan Lady Health Workers Association Bushra Arain and Association’s Karachi chief Naseem Muneer has condemned the remarks of Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro.
The polio cases were about 20,000 in the country when lady health workers’ project initiated in second tenure of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, leaders of lady health workers’ association reminded, adding that it was the effort of the lady health workers that the polio cases reduced in the country.
The lady health workers’ leaders said that when they were facing threats from terrorist organisations, an important government representative had issued remarks against the lady health workers brought sadness for them.
The lady health workers demanded the President to take notice of the remarks of Speaker Khuhro.
