ISLAMABAD – Sarfraz Baig’s novel ‘Pas-e-Ayena’ was launched at Pakistan Academy of Letters on Saturday.
Sarfraz Baig has been settled in Italy for the last 12 years. He has written five books in Urdu including Insaniyat Ki Duya (poetry book), Sanyeen Internet (novel), Clandestini (short stories), Dehria (short stories) and Pas-e-Ayena (novel).
Chief guest was Professor Fateh Mohammad Malik and speakers were who talked about were Dr Nadeem Ravish, Aliyas Babar Awan and Asim Butt. Professor Fateh Mohmmad Malik highlighted that the novel is a positive sense and appreciated the effort. Nadeem Ravish mentioned that Sarfraz Baig is simple and modern prose writer and appreciated that he writes in Italy in Urdu language, which is great.
Pas-e-Ayena is a novel about 9/11 and the protagonist Farishta Sazwari. Farishta Sabzwari leaves Pakistan and during his stay in Italy 9/11 accident happens and he decides to move to Italy than he moves to Switzerland and during his stay in Switzerland he observes that everyone thinks that all Pakistani and Muslims are terrorist and bin Laden.
The writer explains historical background of European terrorists like Savanarola, Templer knights, Red Brigates as well and about atomic bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki as well. He also elaborates beauty of Pakistan with different historical and geological facts.
