Poet Tirmizi passes away


LAHORE (PR) – A noted poet and broadcaster, Syed Razi Tirmizi, passed away late Friday night.
Born in Lahore in September 1926, Tirmizi joined Radio Pakistan in December 1949 and retired as deputy controller in 1985. He was considered among the famous poets. His poetic collection was published with the name, ‘Yadoon Ka Mosam’. He wrote dramas and himself produced them. He got published ‘Misal’, a book consisted of his dramas. Comments and reviews on his poetry and dramas by various personalities, including Faiz Ahmad Faiz, have been published with the name of ‘Artabat’. Tirmizi was elder brother of Brig (r) Irshad Tirmizi and senior broadcaster and columnist Syed Sajjad Tirmizi.
