QUETTA - Balochistan AssemblySpeaker Syed Matiullah Agha has summoned assembly session on Jan 21.
According to Balochistan Assembly Secretariat,Speaker Syed Matiullah Agha on Saturday summoned the session on Monday at 4:00 pm.
Earlier, the speaker had adjourned the assembly meeting until January 18 but Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi on the same day postponed it for an indefinite period. The Balochistan lawmakers adopted a unanimous resolution against the imposition of governor rule in the province during the session on January 15. Balochistan Advocate General Amanullah Kanrani says that by invoking Article 234 of the Constitution, President Asif Ali Zardari dismissed only the chief minister and his cabinet. The provincial assembly is still functional constitutionally and another presidential proclamation is needed to suspend the assembly, he added.                 –Reporter
