HAFIZABAD-The secretaries of Community Development Department took out a protest demonstration to press for the acceptance of their demands including up-gradation of their scales.
Led by Farhan Tarar President of the secretaries staged sit-in demonstration in front of the office of Deputy Director Local government and raised slogans. The protestors said that service structure was their fundamental right and demanded upgradation of their scales and payment of their salaries through the Accounts Office.
GIRLS arrested
Two young girls in male dresses were rounded up by the Sukheke police while they were attempting to smuggle eight kg charas in the district.
According to police source, Mehwish Shabbir of Sabza Zaar Lahore and Maryam Bibi of Chak No. 17 Okara were bringing the contraband from Peshawar in a car and when they reached near Kot Sarwar Interchange, the police intercepted the car and recovered 8 kg charas hidden under the seats. The police have arrested the accused, impounded the car and registered a case against them accordingly.
