Swine flu claims life in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR-A suspected female patient of seasonal influenza, also known as swine flu, breathed her last here at Victoria Hospital here on Friday.
With this fresh death, the death toll from the influenza has climbed to seven during the current month.
According to hospital sources, one Iqbal Bibi,50, died due to influenza in BVH.
They informed that four other patients are still under treatment in the isolation ward of the hospital. According to doctors, blood test of the two patients is positive and the report of other two is awaited.
Doctors said those who have died due to this disease belong to age group of above 50 years and they were admitted with symptoms of influenza.

Servant killed while saving owner

KHANEWAL-A house servant was gunned down while resisting a life attempt on his female owner here in 20/8-R, Tulama the other day.
According to police, the incident occurred when Amjad and his two brothers allegedly attempted to kill their cousin Zuhra Bibi over a land dispute. Resultantly Dilmeer, a servant of Zuhra Bibi, died on the spot.
The police informed that Amjad with his two brothers entered the house of Zuhra 70, in 20/8-R at night but two servants of the woman put up resistance. Upon which they fired gunshots, killing Dilmeer instantly.
According to police, both the family owns agricultural land in Mianchannu and Bajur agency and have longstanding dispute over this property
