Two die in accidents; woman commits suicide

QILA DIDAR SINGH-Three persons including a woman died in different incidents of suicide and road accidents here the other day.
According to police, a man was killed in a truck-dumper collision on Hafizaabd Road. The deceased identified as Bashir Ahmed, resident of D-Chowk Faisalabad, was the dumper driver.
Similarly, a motorcyclist identified as Afzal, resident of Muridke, was killed after the motorbike he was travelling on was hit by a coaster near Alam Chowk. In another incident, a girl, Saiqa, student of Class-V, had had her legs broken after she was hit by a tractor-trolley while crossing road near Kazi Kot.
In another incident, a woman committed suicide by taking wheat-preservative pills over domestic issue. The deceased was identified as Nargis and she was mother of two children. She argued with her mother-in-law over some domestic issue and consumed poisonous pills.
PC body elected unopposed
The entire panel of Founders group had been elected unopposed in annual elections of Ladhewala Warraich Press Club for 2018-19 here the other day.
According to results, Haji Arshad Mehr was elected as president while Junaid Ansari was elected as general secretary of Ladhewala Warraich Press Club.
Other office-bearers include: Lala Shehbaz Gul and Ch Haseeb Asif Pandhair were elected as patron-in-chiefs, Tariq Aziz Chohan as chairman, Sarfaraz Mughal as senior VC, Malik Shah Bukhari as VC, Ch Fiaz as SVP, Shehzad Olakh as vice president, Tariq Fiazi as joint secretary, Asif Pandhair as finance secretary, Sajid Mehmood as information secretary, Shahid Ansari as media adviser and Ahmed Nawab Virk was elected as additional finance secretary.
Local political and social figures congratulated new office-bearers and hoped that they would work for solution to the problems being faced by the journalist community.
