Rehman Malik urges ECP to decide PTI’s foreign funding case

| If political turmoil continues, future of democracy will be dangerous. says Senator

ISLAMABAD   -  Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator Rehman Malik on Tuesday urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to resolve the foreign funding case against the ruling Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf.

The senior Pakistan People’s Party leader attended the Pakistan Democratic Movement rally held outside the headquarters of the ECP against delay in the PTI foreign funding case.

Speaking to journalists on the occasion, he appealed to the ECP for an early decision in the PTI foreign funding case. He said that the sooner the Election Commission decides, the sooner the nation will move towards betterment. “If the political turmoil continues, the future of democracy will be in dangerous. All evidences and documents are before the Election Commission so delay in the decision is annoying the opposition,” he said.

Senator Malik said that the nation needed to get out of the National Reconciliation Ordinance politics as “NRO does not exist. It is mere a political blame game.”

He urged both the government and opposition to be united on important national issues. He said the government and the opposition must unite on national issues as the day was not far when everyone would regret disunity.

Distinguished members of the society visited the residence of senior Pakistan People’s Party leader Senator Rehman Malik to condole the death of his sister who passed away recently.

Muhammad Naqib-ur-Rahman Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Eidgah Sharif, Rawalpindi accompanied by Muhammad Hassaan Haseebur Rehman visited Senator Rehman Malik’s residence to condole the death of his elder sister.

They expressed heartfelt condolences and offered Fateha for the departed soul. Peer Naqibur Rehman also prayed for Senator Rehman Malik and his family. Earlier, Leader of the House in the Senate Senator Shehzad Wasim visited Senator Rehman Malik and condoled with him and offered Fateha for the departed soul of his sister. He expressed his heartfelt condolences. 

Meanwhile, in a letter Japan ambassador in Pakistan Matsuda Kuninori expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies with Senator Rehman Malik. The elder sister of Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator Rehman Malik had died of a massive heart attack on January 9 in Sialkot. Senator Malik thanked all those who had expressed condolences and sympathies with him.
