KARACHI   -   The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday ordered the relevant authorities to halt illegal construction on the government quarters in P&T Colony Karachi. The high court heard a petition against demolishing the government quarters and constructing a four-storey building in P&T. It ordered halt to illegal construction on government quarters. “Under what law the four-storey buildings are being constructed on government quarters,” the court said. Government quarters are government property only, the court remarked. The petitioner stated that a large scale illegal encroachment is taking place in P&T Colony. The Supreme Court had also expressed concern over the P&T Colony encroachments, the petition said The construction of a four-story building on the government quarters should be stopped, said the petitioner.
