Emir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq strongly condemning the bomb blast in Anarkali Lahore has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.
In a statement issued from Mansoora on Thursday, he expressed grief over the loss of precious lives in the saddening incident and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
Sirajul Haq said the government and security agencies must devise a comprehensive security plan to repel the threat looming over the country, considering the prevailing situation. He said the increase in the terror incidents in recent days was a matter of great concern for every Pakistani.
He said the terror revisited Lahore after years and two incidents of terrorism were reported in Islamabad in an ongoing month. He said the terrorists were enemies of humanity and they deserve exemplary punishment.
The JI chief said the government should act vigilantly against the terror plots and must inform the nation about the criminals involved in the Lahore blast and their backers. He said the nation should stand united to defeat the terrorists, believing the country will soon get rid of the menace.
JI vice-Emir Liaqat Baloch, JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim, JI Information Secretary Qaisar Sharif, and other leaders also expressed condolence with the families of victims of the Lahore blast and prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the incident.
Meanwhile, the JI Emir Sirajul Haq formed the committee to prepare a final schedule for the 101 sit-ins which the JI had planned to hold against the anti-people policies of the government. Led by JI secretary general Ameerul Azmi, the committee will be comprised of JI deputy secretary AzharIqbal Hassan, JI information secretary Qaisar Sharif and secretary generals of all provinces.
The JI will hold the sit-in to press the government to take back the mini-budget, remove the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, take measures to eliminate the interest-based economy, and decrease food items prices by at least 50 percent.
