LAHORE - Central Police Office (CPO) has omitted the names of 51 persons from the list of 194 hardened criminals, which was forwarded by the City police to fix head money for their arrest. The list comprising proclaimed offenders/court absconders and containing criminals necessary information and other particulars, was meant for the Home Department to fix head money on them. The sources in the CPO say 51 criminals are dropped on various grounds including incomplete record of the cases registered against them, missing pictures and incomplete addresses, while some are excluded due to their involvement in one or two cases only in various police stations of the provincial capital. The omitted names have been sent back to the City police with directions to review the objections raised by the CPO. Meanwhile, the particulars of remaining 143 criminals have been forwarded to the Home Department for deciding their fate. These criminals are considered 'big troublemakers in the local police circles as they have gone underground to prevent arrests. Sources in the police department say the City police high-ups apprehend that these hardened criminals may join the 'terrorists camp in case their arrests are delayed further. That is why the officials want to fix head money for ensuring their immediate capture. Giving a justification to the Home Department for head money on the arrests of the hardened criminals, the City police pointed the fact that they are also responsible for rising crimes in the metropolis. While recommending their names for head money, the City police have categorised them into A, B and categories keeping in view of their individual profile. The fixation of head money would help police in tracing and arresting these hardened criminals, the police department claims. The head money on their arrest is going to attract the informers, as they are one of the main sources of the police. Some criminals included in the list complied by the police are wanted in more than three dozen incidents of heinous crimes registered against them in the Citys police stations.
