Lahore - Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has said that two percent elite, capturing the country’s wealth and resources for decades, are responsible for plight of the remaining 98 percent population.
Presiding over a meeting of JI Youth Board at Mansoora on Friday, he said the so-called main political parties had no space for the young educated people from poor and middle-class families rather they were clubs of feudal lords, imperialists and their sons and daughters.
Siraj said the youth should challenge the injustice and discrimination in politics and social fabric and join the platform of the JI to bring real change in the country.
He said poverty, inflation, unemployment and corruption were the chronic problems of the country but the ruling elite never bothered to address them. He said in-fact the prevailing corrupt system suited to the rulers and they used it to keep control on power. He said the interest-based economy had also plagued the country. He said IMF, World Bank were playing the key role in decision making, enslaving the nation and putting at stake the country’s sovereignty. He said the PTI government proved itself agent of the status quo and it badly exposed even in half of its tenure. He said the prime minister deceived the youth in the name of “change”. He said the country needed a true and honest leadership which had the ability to put it on track.
JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim, JI Youth Board Secretary Zubair Gondal, JI Information Secretary Qaisar Sharif and others also attended the event.
