Rawalpindi-As many as three people died due to Covid-19 in Rawalpindi district on Wednesday and 116 people tested positive of deadly virus while 107 patients got discharged from the hospitals during 24 hours, informed sources.
Nasira Parveen, 55, resident of Peshawar Road, was brought to Isolation Hospital and Infectious Treatment Centre on May 18 and she died on Wednesday, they said. They said Shahida Jan, 68, resident of Satellite Town, arrived at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on May 18 and she died on Wednesday.
Naseem Akhter, 55, resident of Dhamial, was brought to Isolation Hospital and Infectious Treatment Centre on May 18 and she died on Wednesday, he said.
In Rawalpindi district, there are 882 active patients. As many as 96 patients are in the hospitals including 35 patients arriving from other districts and 786 patients are home isolated. As many as 688 patients are awaiting their results for Covid-19 serology for last one week.
Total 116 new patients reported from the district while 90 patients from the garrison city including 31 patients from Cantonment and 19 patients arrived from Potohar Town and 40 from Rawal Town areas. From the other parts of the district, seven patients arrived from Taxila, three patients each from Gujar Khan and Kahuta, two from Kotli Sattian and four from Murree. Two patients were brought from KP and one patient each arrived from Islamabad, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Jhelum, AJK and Sheikhupura.
