A heir-raising future

Yet another Eid has arrived during the golden era of the present PPP government. I wonder how the common man will celebrate it. Is there anything to celebrate? Our President would probably fly away to UK or USA and the PM would confine himself to the highly protected PM House, even though, he would receive the sycophants on Eid there. From their cloistered quarters, both of these democratically elected leaders would send us good wishes on Eid, which we hardly need. The army of ministers would also break ranks to disappear somewhere in the countryside. No one would be visible on Eid or available to celebrate Eid with the people of Pakistan. It seems the Mughal rule has come back. The common man has no access to our emperors. No one can enter the royal palaces. The father rules us now, the son would rule us later and his grandson on his turn, one by one. Zardari is anointing Bilawal for the crown, the Sharifs are preparing Hamza while the Chaudhries are preparing Moonis. Altaf Bhai has not announced yet who is going to be his successor. It is time Maulana Fazlur Rahman also brought his son into the limelight so that people of Pakistan know who is going to be the next custodian of Islam. Wali Khans son is already in power but we must know the grandson of Mr. Wali Khan better now. The PPP speakers are right when they say on TV that they have the right to rule for five years. People have to endure them for five years. -MUJTABA TABNAK, Kamonke, November19.
