LAHORE Veteran intellectual, researcher and columnist Syed Sibte Hassan Zaigham passed away on Friday due to cardiac arrest. He was 78. The deceased was writer of more than 50 books. He did a lot for the promotion of Punjabi language and won various national awards. Editor-in-Chief TheNation Majid Nizami and a large number of writers, intellectuals and poets including Shafqat Tanveer Mirza, Jameel Paul, Shehzad Ahmed, Dr Dilshad Tiwana, Mian Maqsoodul Hassan Bokhari, Parveen Malik and Pervez Majeed expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also expressed sense of sorrow and prayed that may Allah rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
