CDGR urged to issue arm licences to HMC guards






RAWALPINDI – Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) Taxila management appealed to the City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) to provide arm licences to its newly recruited security guards, besides beefing up the security measures for the complex.
“HMC hired the services of as many as 80 new security guards for guarding the complex but they have not been granted arm licences so far,” said Managing Director HMC during a meeting with Commissioner Rawalpindi Division here on Monday. District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Saqib Zaffar, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Cap (Retd) Muhammad Zubair, City Police Office (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokhar and the administration of HMC also attended the meeting. During the meeting, over all security situation of HMC was reviewed keeping in mind the current wave of terrorist activities in different pars of the country. Addressing the meeting, MD HMC informed that there were 80 guards deployed by HMC management but they did not have arm licences. Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal asked the administration of HMC to submit the required details of the guards to the DCO Office for the issuance of arm licences.
He further said that a joint meeting should be convened of Assistant Commissioner (AC) Taxila, DSP Taxila and the security in-charge of the HMC to make out security plan. Moreover, the list of security guards along with particulars should be provided to DCO for issuance of non prohibited bore licenses.
MD HMC told the district administrators that a large number of fruit and vegetable vendors and sellers with hand carts standing along with outer wall of the factory that could cause security threat for the factory.
The police and district administration should take concrete steps to remove the vendors from there, he said.
Commissioner said that he directed that more CCTV cameras should be installed in HMC to monitor the visitors and out of order cameras be repaired.
Imdad Ullah Bosal also asked the Special Branch (SB) of police to comb the adjoining areas of the factory after Muharram-ul-Harram to purge the locality from the suspicious elements. He also directed the authorities concerned to all the hawkers who have encroached the outer side of HMC outer wall should be identified and they should be issued notices to vacate the land.
The HMC administration was also directed by the Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal to provide a detailed list of regular and daily wage employees to SB of Rawalpindi police to keep their particulars in the record of area police.
