CM dubs Metro Bus Service critics as mafia


LAHORE – Chairing a meeting in Model Town on Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the metro bus was a splendid project of public service and was being opposed only by a specific mafia.  He said that this mega project of public interest would be completed as soon as possible.  The meeting reviewed the pace of work on different sections of the project and important decisions were taken for the completion of the construction work within the timeline. The CM said that the contractors should observe the timeline for the completion of the construction work as it will not be extended. Issuing instructions for the formation of a steering committee headed by Chairman Planning & Development for removing hurdles in the implementation of the project, the Chief Minister directed that the pending work should be completed simultaneously.  He said that quality work should be ensured at the stations of metro bus. He issued instructions to DG PHA to complete horticulture and landscaping on the route of bus service and directed NESPAK authorities that a detailed and comprehensive briefing should be given to him on the pace of work at every section of the project as well as the pending work. The CM expresed satifised with the work on the rotary turn at MAO College directed for installing solar lights on the route.
