Drug Testing Centre to start in December




LAHORE – The Board of Management of Pakistan Drug Testing and Research Centre has decided to start functioning of this project by end December 2012. It was announced in the first meeting of the Board of Management of PDTRC held here yesterday at PIEDMC city office. The advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab, Khawaja Salman Rafique was the chief guest on this occasion. While the Chairman Punjab Industrial Estates, SM Tanveer chaired the meeting.
The advisor to CM Punjab Khawaja Salaman assured full support of the govt of Punjab and lauded the initiative of Punjab Industrial Estates role to setup PDTRC in order to provide drug testing facilities of international standard in Punjab Province.
The Chairman Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) SM Tanveer said that at cost of Rs. 100 million, this project would not only provide services to more than 166 National and multinational Pharmaceutical companies situated at Sundar Industrial Estate but entire pharma sector of Punjab Province and the country.
Speaking about the importance of the project, SM Tanveer said the initiative would improve quality of drugs in the Punjab Province and the country and save time of pharma sector in examining the samples which were sent abroad for testing earlier.
