ISLAMABAD – Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid group and Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence, Monday said all political parties should adopt unanimous policies to counter extremism and terrorism, and promote educational, economic, trade and business activities.
Taking to a delegation of National Youth Assembly, he said silence on the issue of Palestine is regrettable while the drone attacks are threat to national security.
Senior Vice President of PML-Q Syed Faqir Hussain Bokhari and Advisor to the Prime Minister Chaudhry Imtiaz Ranjah were also present on the occasion.
Mushahid said there is need to change the thinking on the issue of Balochistan and find out a peaceful solution to this problem and ensure equal rights to every Baloch.
He regretted that 8,500 criminals were released from different jails of Karachi and emphasised the need to start political dialogue to improve the situation in the country. Mushahid said accountability and oversight of the defence budget is important to ensure transparency in the spending of the defence budget. He said, it is the failure of the government that it could not make reforms in FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas), being run on the rules made by the British government.
