SHEIKHUPURA - In a bid to ensure foolproof security and maintain law and order in the city during Muharram, the district police under the supervision of DPO Rana Abdul Jabbar and DCO Zahid Akhtar Zaman arranged a flag-march here the other day.
The march which was also joined in by peace committee members, Rescue 1122 team, Civil Defence, TMA, Health Department and journalists, started from DPO office and passed through main roads of the town.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Rana Abdul Jabbar said that the flag-march aimed at ensuring the security of public property and life generally and Muharram processions in particularly.
DPO Rana Abdul Jabbar said that the law enforcement agencies were on red alert and surveillance of processions routes would be carried out on scientific lines.
He said that to fulfill the task, all SDPOs and SHOs would launch effective search operations as well as combing activities in their jurisdictions, at the slum areas of the city and enhance vigilance at all entry points of the city.
He said that close liaison would be maintained with peace committees and organisers of Majalis and processions.
DPO Rana Abdul Jabbar said that cooperation of organisers should be ensured with the cops and law enforcing officials to avert any untoward incident.
