ISLAMABAD : In a major development in Arsalan-Riaz graft case, property tycoon Malik Riaz appeared before the Suddle Commission and apologised for his remarks against the commission. The Supreme Court's appointed judicial commission accepted Riaz's apology and withdrew contempt notice. It is pertinent to mention that Shoaib Suddle, head of judicial commission probing Dr Arsalan Iftikhar-Malik Riaz case, had summoned the property tycoon for leveling allegations against the commission.
Complying with the orders, Malik Riaz appeared before commission and offered his unconditional apology.
"My client has appeared before the commission complying with the orders of judicial commission. Now, it is understood that case of court contempt is null and void," Zahid Bokhari, counsel of Malik Riaz, told journalists on Monday.
Malik Riaz, the main character in the scandal, earlier had refused to appear before Suddle Commission.
