UK lauds Pak efforts for Afghan peace




ISLAMABAD - The British Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir David Richards, Monday called on Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and discussed bilateral issues of mutual interest and regional situation with special reference to Afghanistan.
Khar apprised him of the recent developments including Afghanistan High Peace Council’s visit to Pakistan. She reiterated Pakistan’s support for an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process and expressed willingness to provide all possible assistance for durable peace and stability in Afghanistan.
General Richards appreciated Pakistan’s support for efforts towards peace and security in the region.
