Chairman exposes corruption in UC projects

Admin claims uplift work afoot

SAMBRIAL-The Union Council-121 chairman has exposed the embezzlement in the development funds and violation of procedure of uplift work in Sambrial.
UC-121 Baddokay Cheema Chairman Jamshed Cheema said that work orders amounting to Rs2,500,000 were issued for his union council on November 13, 2017 but when he contacted with the contractor to commence the work against these work orders, Contractor Mudassar replied that work had already been completed.
Jamshed lamented while talking to the newsmen that it was the worst form of corruption. He asked how the work completed before the issuance of work orders. He further alleged that no development work had been done on the ground.
He demanded the Punjab chief minister, minister for local government and community development, the Anti-Corruption Establishment and other officers to terminate the work orders, stop payment, suspend the contractor's licence and take action against all the corrupt persons.
On the other side, the district administration claimed that the Punjab Highway Department has started the construction of 29 kilometer main Daska-Pasrur Road as the government has released the funds of Rs1.8 billion for the project.
It released a Rs968 million for the reconstruction of 27km main Pasrur-Narowal Road. A meeting of the District Development Committee was held at the DC Office. The deputy commissioner said that both the road projects would be completed till the end of April 2018 for providing better means of communication.
Later, the DC handed over the financial complication cheques of Rs0.8 million each to the grieved families of the four Kashmor-Sindh based shepherds Qehar Arif Baloch, Nasarullah Baloch, Abdul Rasul and Altaf Baloch. They were killed in a roof collapse during heavy rain near village Dharam Kot-Daska here on July 12, 2017.
MOSQUE FUNDS LOOTED: Some unknown thieves stole thousands of rupees from the locker of a local mosque on Nawaz Sharif Stadium Road Daska city. Local police are investigating with no arrest so far.
