KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Sirajul Haq has said that people those claim to have the stake of the city has done nothing for the citizen of Karachi while Jamaat-i-Islami is the only political force which can bring Karachiites out of the crisis.

Siraj expressed these views while addressing the participants of the family convention held at Kakri Ground Lyari on Sunday. JI leaders including JI Naib Ameer Rashid Naseem, JI Sindh Ameer Mirajul Huda Siddiqui, JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and others were also present on the occasion.

Siraj said that party would not tolerate delay in the general elections in the name of accountability. Party with the agenda to eliminate corruption from the country has demanded for the accountability of not a single family but action against 435 corrupt people those names were appeared in Panama Leaks.

JI chief speaking to participants expressed grief and annoyance over the miserable situation of Karachi and said that provincial government and municipal institutions were responsible for the destruction of the city.

He said that both Sind government and local elected representatives instead of providing any relief to the citizen were using delay tactics. Still today the metropolis is deprived of save drinking water whereas there is a shortage of electricity, transport and lack of cleanliness work, he added.

Without naming MQM, Siraj said that people those were enjoying the mandate of Karachi and other urban region of Sindh Province has done nothing for citizen but had played a key role in making the people life miserable. Jamaat-e-Islami is the only political force which can bring the people from the crisis, claimed Siraj.

Talking about the Panama Leaks, he said that JI was the first political party that came up with the slogans of “Corruption free Pakistan” and initiated a movement against the corrupt elements. So far a single family has been going to through the process of accountability whereas JI demands the accountability of the about 435 corrupt people those name were surfaced in Panama Leaks.

He cited the committee headed by Raja Zarfarul Haq was formed to unearth the people those were involved in amendment in Elections Amendment Bill, 2017, related to Khatam-e-Nabuwat but so far no progress has been made.

Youth have to come forward to play their role said JI Sindh Ameer Mirajul Hudda Siddiqui in his address. He said that it is good sign that being Muslims, people always gave worth to the Islami values but some anti-Islami elements were forcing the people to adopt materialistic living. He further said that JI in the upcoming election would field its candidate from the entire Sindh.

JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman during his speech said that since 1988 MQM and PPP has remained in power and pushed the city towards destruction. About 40 years ago PPP leader Nusrat Bhutto promised the people of Lyari to turn the locality into Paris but since then PPP ruling government has failed to establish a single school which is potential to educate the children of the area. It seems like the city of Karachi is moving ahead to get rid from the rule of mafias however establishment to clear its stance if it desire real and positive change in Karachi, said Naeem.
