Rupee weakens against dollar

ISLAMABAD    -    Exchange rate of Pakistani rupee weakened by 35 paisas against the United States dollar in the interbank trading on Monday and closed at Rs177.46 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 177.11. According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of US dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs177.2 and Rs178.8, respectively. Similarly, the price of the euro was depreciated by 3 paisas and closed at Rs198.55 against the previous day’s closing of Rs198.58. The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.53, whereas a decrease of 10 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs237.54 as compared to its last closing of Rs237.64. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 10 paisas to close at Rs48.31 and Rs47.30, respectively.
