PM calls PTI CEC meeting today

Imran Khan also summons high level meeting to review law & order situation

ISLAMABAD   -  Prime Minister Imran has called an important meeting of the Central Executive Committee of PTI today to discuss the latest political situation and devise a strategy to counter the no-confidence motion being filed by the opposition parties.


Sources confirmed that the PTI CEC would be held at the PM Office today with the sole agenda of the prevailing political situation in the country in the wake of a challenge of no-confidence motion.


“The party is expected to take the final decision on the future of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and other related developments”, a source said. The party meeting would also be discussing the hidden support by opposition lawmakers to PTI as claimed by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak. He would take the party into confidence about his contacts with such opposition lawmakers. The PM has also called a meeting of top security officials today to discuss the prevailing security situation in the country in the aftermath of Peshawar mosque blast. Official sources said the meeting is also expected to review National Action Plan and likely to make changes in it in order to fight back effectively with the fresh wave of terrorism.


Interior Minister Sh Rashid will brief the meeting about the Peshawar suicide bombing and progress in investigations so far.
