CIA busts robbers’ gang, arrests 2 active members

ISLAMABAD - The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police busted a notorious robber gang by arresting two of its active members during a raid, informed a police spokesman on Wednesday.
The detained robbers are associated with Ghafari Dacoit Gang involved in incidents of house burglaries in the federal capital, he added.
According to him, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Ahsan Younas categorically directed all police officers to accelerate their efforts to curb crime in the city.
Following his directions, he said, a police team comprising sub Inspector Salman Shah, Assistant Sub-Inspector Imtiaz Ahmed and officials apprehended two members of a gang involved in house burglaries incidents in various areas of the Aabpara and recovered gold ornaments, artificial gold and mobile phones from their possession.
The arrested accused are identified as Abdul Ghaffar alias Ghafari (gang leader), son of Muhammad Azeem, resident of Afghanistan and Anzer Gul, son of Habib Gul, resident of Swat. A case has been registered against the nabbed accused in Aabpara Police Station and further investigation is underway from them. Furthermore, police team also arrested an accused Basheer Ahmed involved in snatching incidents in various areas of I Area police stations. Police team recovered a phone and cash from their possession. Cases have been registered in Aabpara and I Area police stations and further investigation is underway.

Senior police officials appreciated the performance of police teams.
