LAHORE - Former Punjab governor and Institute of Public Health Board of Management chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Khalid Maqbool Thursday said that the employees, who discharged their duties with honesty and dedication, were always a very valuable asset to any institution.
He said that protecting the rights and welfare of the employees was the responsibility of the high-ups of that institution to acknowledge the services of their workers. He expressed these views while distributing uniforms and shoes to the grade-4 employees of the Institute of Public Health (IPH) here on Thursday.
IPH Dean Prof Dr Zarfishan Tahir, faculty members and the officers of the IPH also attended the ceremony. More than 50 employees of grade-1 to grade-4 got uniforms ‘Shalwar Kameez’ and shoes, whereas, ‘dupatta’ was also included in the uniforms for women. Speaking on the occasion, IPH Dean Prof Dr Zarfishan Tahir said that besides the efforts and keen interest taken by the high-ups of the Punjab government for making the IPH a vibrant institution, the services and hard work of the employees of the institution was also commendable who were always ready to fulfill any task given to them.
Highlighting the role of IPH for the improvement of the public health sector, Dr Zarfishan said that the IPH rendering services to promote medical education and a number of degree and diploma courses were being offered at the institution.
She elaborated that research work on different viral diseases was also being carried out for the prevention and control of those diseases.
