HYDERABAD - The Commissioner Hyderabad Division Nadeemur Rehman Memon on Monday directed the officials of the Revenue and Irrigation departments to conduct inquiry of the government land which has been occupied by some housing schemes along Indus River’s embankment in Latifabad.
Chairing a meeting at his office here, Memon said some structures had been raised in Bismillah Extension Housing Scheme on the government land without obtaining approvals from the concerned government department. He asked the officers to check the survey numbers of the pieces of land on which the scheme had been established to find out how much part of the government land had been included in that scheme.
He also asked the officials to recover the illegally occupied government land from all the builders in Kohsar area of Hyderabad along the river bank. The commissioner also directed the officials to check the land record of Saiban, Satellite, Madina and Kohistan housing schemes as well which were located in the same area.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Fuad Ghaffar Soomro asked the officials of Sindh Irrigation Department to fulfill their responsibility of protecting the government land which was property of their department. He assured the irrigation officials that the district administration would fully support their action for retrieval of the government land.
