Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in Junior Davis Cup

LAHORE - Pakistan team recorded victories in the Junior Asia/Oceania Davis Cup 2022 when they defeated Sri Lanka in the mega event being played in New Delhi, India.
According to information made available here on Thursday, Pakistani boys overpowered their Sri Lankan counterparts 2-1. In the first match, Hamid Israr played well against the Sri Lankan opponent and outclassed him by 6-0, 6-1.
Muhammad Huzaifa Khan then lost to Sri Lanka No 1 by 4-6, 5-7. The guy was quite steady but Huzaifa made too many unforced errors. Pakistani pair of Huzaifa and Hamid then played tremendous tennis against the Sri Lankan counterparts and outlasted them by 6-1, 6-3.
Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan outpaced Indonesia by 2-1. In the first encounter of the day, Pakistan’s Bilal Asim was up against Indonesia’s Kurniawan Alhdito Ramadhan Dwi and played so well that he comfortably won the match by 6-2, 6-3 to give Pakistan 1-0 lead.
The second match of the day saw Muhammad Huzaifa Khan outpacing Indonesia’s Muhammad HidayatulRezky by 6-3, 6-3. Then Pakistani pair of Hamid Israr and Muhammad Huzaifa lost their doubles match to Indonesian pair of Jahfal Muna and Alhdito Ramadhan Dwi by 6-3, 2-6 (10-5).
Earlier, Pakistan Junior Davis Cup team lost to India by 3-0 in the opening match. India, with a very big budget for tennis, is now progressing well in the world of tennis while Pakistan tennis players lack a lot of international facilities, coaches, training and international exposure. In their second tie, Pakistan team was beaten badly by Australia with a thumping score of 3-0.
