United States Congresswoman arrives in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD   -   US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is arriving in Islamabad today (Tuesday) on a week-long visit to Pakistan, to meet the senior civil, military leadership. She would visit Azad Kashmir where she would meet President AJK Sultan Mehmood Ch and would get a briefing about LOC and the latest situation in IIOJK. She would also visit the Line of Control, where local military commanders would give her briefing about the latest situation at LOC.

In Islamabad, she would meet President Arif Ali besides holding meetings at the Foreign Ministry with the senior officials. She would also visit GHQ and would meet Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.Being a democrat, Ilhan Omar is a strong supporter of human rights and has been speaking against Islamophobia in the United States and elsewhere. She has been critical of the ongoing onslaught of Indian armed forces in Kashmir.

Ilhan Omar would also visit Lahore, where she would meet the Chief Minister and would visit the Kidney Centre working under the Punjab government. She would also visit the walled city of Lahore. She will conclude her visit on 24th April 2022. Being a democrat she openly challenged former US President Donald Trump’s policies against Muslims.
