Attock-Police have arrested nine accused including drug peddlers and a proclaimed offender from different areas of the Attock district. Police recovered 5.44kg of hashish and two pistols from their possession.
Those arrested include Zewar Khan, resident of Taxila, Wajid Ali, resident of Sakhar, Tanveer Ahmad, resident of Mirpur Hasanabdal, Naematullah, resident of Shams Abad Hazro, Babar Shahzad and Akhtar Nawaz both residents of Haji Shah, Umar Habib, resident of Hazro, Muhammad Waqas, resident of village Jhang and Zubair Hussain Shah a proclaimed offender, resident of Ludhiyal Fatehjang. Cases under the acts have been registered against the culprits who have been sent behind the bars.
Meanwhile, Secretary Livestock Punjab Naveed Haidar Shirazi visited Hazro City to monitor the implementation of Ramzan Package. On the other hand, DC Attock Muhammad Naeem Sindhu paid surprise visits to different food check posts which have been set up to control wheat smuggling. He directed the staff deputed on these check posts to remain vigilant and ensure checking of all trucks, trolleys and other vehicles and not to take a lenient view.
