ISLAMABAD - The Establishment Division on Tuesday placed seven senior police officers on the disposal of Interior Division for their further placement in Federal Investigation Agency.
According to a notification issued, the officers include 4 BS-20 officers and 3 officials of BS-19 belonging to the Police Service of Pakistan.
The BS-20 officers include Capt (Retd) Asim Khan, who has been posted in Sindh Police, Ehsan Mansoor and Abdul Jabar, posted in Balochistan Police, and Jahanzaib Nazir Khan, who has been posted in Islamabad Police.
Meanwhile, 3 officers of BS-19 including Muhammad Shahzad, Asif Khan and Capt (Retd) Jawad Qamar, were posted in Balochistan Police and Sarfraz Khan Virk was awaiting for posting in the Establishment Division.
It is pertinent to mention here that few days ago the federal government had removed FIA’s Director General Sanaullah Abbasi and appointed in his place Muhammad Tahir Rai, a Grade-22 officer.
Sources informed that the aforementioned appointments are being made in a bid to make his team by the newly-appointed DG FIA.
Rai was recently serving as National Coordinator at National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) while earlier he also served as Inspector General of Police in Balochistan.
He is considered as most experienced police officer in countering terrorism and he has served twice as the head of Counter Terrorism Department Punjab.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqat has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Establishment Division to head the department which is mandated to do posting and transfers of Pakistan Administrative Services and Police Service of Pakistan.
