Masjid-e-Nabvi incident: PTI crossed all limits, says Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI - Sindh Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has announced a protest across the province today, against a sloganeering and indecent language incident at Masjid-e-Nabvi.
PPP Sindh’s President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that PPP would stage a protest demonstration against PTI’s act of disrespecting Masjid-e-Nabvi at all district headquarters.
He apealed to the people of different sections of the society to take part in the protest against those, who disrespected the sacred places. He said that PTI, which claimed to establish Riyasat e Madina and the same had disrespected the Madina while standing at Madina.
Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon, while condemning an incident that took place at Masjid-e-Nabvi, said that PTI had crossed all limits.
He expressed his dismay over the incident and stating that “it was disappointing,” adding that even non-Muslims showed respect for the holy months of Ramazan and Muharram-ul-Haram and stop their wars in the said months.
Meanwhile, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has congratulated the 2022 office-bearers of the Sindh Journalists Council elected in the council’s general body meeting.
He praised the efforts made by the council for raising concern for the security of journalists, and promoting and protecting the right of freedom of expression. Rafiq Bhutto was elected as the patron in chief, Qazi Zulfiqar as the pesident, Syed Munawar Alam as the senior vice president, Najibullah Naich as the vice president, Shahid Sial as the General Secretary, Asad Arain as the joint secretary, Abdullah Solangi as the deputy secretary, Saleem Jhandeer as the treasurer and Shabir Lashari as the information secretary.
Congratulating them, Memon expressed the hope that the newly-elected body would continue struggle for the welfare and rights of journalists. He added that the Sindh government led by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had always supported journalists and their associations in order to create a conducive working environment for media workers. He assured the council that the Sindh government would continue to extend cooperation to them as the PPP believed that free media was essential for a democratic society.
PPP leader condemns contemptuous incident
Pakistan People’s Party’s Divisional Information Secretary Ehsan Abro has strongly condemned the indecent treatment meted out to federal ministers at Roza Rasool (SA) at Madinah. In a statement on Friday, Ehsan Abro said that the incident which took place with the honorable members of the Pakistani delegation, Federal Ministers Shahzain Bugti and Ms Maryam Aurangzeb at Roza Rasool (SA) was regrettable and condemnable act which could not be tolerated. The PTI leadership is behind this contemptuous incident, Abro blamed. He demanded that a treason case should be registered against the PTI leadership and former Home Minister Sheikh Rashid for violation of the Constitution of Pakistan.
