LAHORE - Shahab Khan and Adnan Khan – both from CAA – reached the men’s singles semifinals of the 2nd Gatorade Trophy Tennis Championship at Union Club. In the men’s singles quarterfinals, Shahab Khan brushed aside Haroon Arshad 6-2, 6-2 while Adnan Khan faced tough resistance from Aqeel Shabbir to win the encounter 6-1, 6-4. Muhammad Ali also struggled hard to beat spirited Muhammad Asif 6-2, 6-3. In juniors U-17 singles semifinals, Malik Hasnain beat Dhuraf Das 6-1, 5-7, 10-5 while in U-15 singles quarterfinals, Taimoor Khan outpaced Ibrahim Qureshi 6-3, 6-2. In the U-13 singles first round, Mahd Shehzad beat Muhammad Ali Farrukh 4-0, 4-1. In the U-9 singles round robin, Arsh Imran beat Nayal Ahmed Shamsi 4-0, 5-4 while Naayel Sohaib beat Dyed M Sufyan 4-1, 5-3.
