Pakistan reports 137 more Covid-related deaths

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Tuesday reported 137 new Covid-19 deaths, raising the total death toll to 16,453. Out of the total 16,453 reported deaths, there had been about 4,556 deaths in Sindh, 7,561 in Punjab, 2,920 in KP and 645 in Islamabad. About 225 deaths were reported in Balochistan, 104 deaths in GB and 442 in AJK. According to the data shared by the NCOC, about 5,445 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours after 68,200 tests were conducted across the country. The positivity rate of Coronavirus stands at 8 percent as of Tuesday. In the provincial breakdown, Sindh has reported 2273,466 Covid-19 cases, Punjab 273,566 cases, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 107,309 cases, Islamabad 70,609 cases, Balochistan 220,822 cases, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 15,741 cases, and Gilgit-Baltistan reported 5,191 such cases since the pandemic begin last year.According to the NCOC, total active Covid-19 cases across the country are reported to be 83,298. It said, during the past 24 hours, most deaths occurred in Punjab followed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Meanwhile, 4,286 patients recovered from the deadly disease in a day taking total recoveries to 667,131. A total of 766,882 Covid-19 cases have been detected so far; AJK 15741, Balochistan 21000, GB 5191, ICT 70609, KP 107309, Punjab 273566 and Sindh 273466.
