Ghulam Memon  appointed as Acting AGP

ISLAMABAD   -  The government has appointed Ghulam Muhammad Memon as Acting Auditor General of Pakistan with immediate effect till the appointment of a regular incumbent. 

“In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 168(6) of the Constitution, the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been pleased to appoint Mr Ghulam Muhammad Memon, presently working as Additional Auditor General-I (BS-22), as Acting Auditor General of Pakistan, being most senior in the office of Auditor General of Pakistan, with immediate effect till appointment of a regular incumbent,” said a notification issued by Ministry of Finance. 

The incumbent AGP Javed Jahangir had completed his tenure on August 16. Jahangir was appointed by former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the last days of the PML-N government. The government would consider various names for the post of permanent AGP.
