Registration of case against SHO ordered

LAHORE - District and Sessions Court on Monday issued orders to register a case against SHO Manawan Police Muhammad Ameen for detaining three persons. The judge directed DSP concerned to register case against said the SHO and produce the copy of FIR in the court on next fixed date. As per details, Khizer Mushtaq a resident of Batapur had filed a habeas corpus petition in the court alleging that Manawan police had detained his three relatives namely Rehman, Shahbaz and Sabir without any charges. He contended that SHO Manawan along with other police officials raided the house of his relative illegally and abducted them. He alleged that Manawan police subjecting his relatives to a severe torture. He prayed before the court for the recovery of his relatives on which the court appointed Iqbal Chauhan as bailiff. The bailiff raided Manawan police station and found detainees there. Bailiff's investigation disclosed that all three persons were detained by police without any charge and registration of arrest in the daily diary. Bailiff produced the detainees before the court, where they were released. On Monday, SHO Manawan Police also appeared before the court and he failed to satisfy the court regarding the illegal detention of the persons. On this, the court directed police authorities concerned to register a case against the SHO for his illegal act.
