ISLAMABAD - Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Pir Noor ul Haq Qadri Sunday said the religious extremists and liberals had severely damaged Islam. He said it was our responsibility to portray the true image of Islam through mosques and seminaries. He expressed these views during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Dr Ali Arbash who called on him here in the Ministry of Religious Affairs along with his delegation. During the meeting, the Turkish delegation was briefed on productive activities of Pakistan’s religious affairs and interfaith harmony ministry. Qadri said the Turkish religious minister’s visit would pave the way for combined efforts against the Islamophobia. He said the cordial ties between the two religious ministries would help benefit the regional people in general and Muslim world in particular. He informed that Pakistan completed the Kartarpur Corridor on the longstanding demand of Indian Sikh community and humanitarian grounds. He proposed to constitute a ‘joint research group’ to find the solution of modern-day issues. He said Pakistan should learn from Turkish experiences especially in Hajj and education sectors. Besides Islamophibia, Qadri stressed the need to raise an effective voice on the protection of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)’s sanctity and Palestine and Kashmir issues.
